How to choose drag-chain conveyor?

The reasonable selection of scraper and chain depends on its structure form, chain pitch, scraper pitch and material of construction. When choosing, people should pay special attention to meet the requirements of production capacity, and make the scraper & chain have the adaptability to material.

1. Selection of Scraper Structure Form
The scraper structure form determines the transportation effect of buried scraper conveyor. It could get a good effect through the reasonable selection of scraper. Otherwise, the improper selection of scraper may cause poor transportation effect, even failure.

On the condition of meeting the adaptability to material, the selection principle is to choose the scraper simple in structure. In the specific use, the scraper can be chosen according to the material features (viscosity, suspension property and fluidity), conveyor trough width and conveyor arrangement form.

1) The material has good transportation property: the scraper in simple shape is preferred, such as T-type, V-type, U-type, etc.
The material has small internal friction coefficient, strong suspension property and high fluidity: complex shape scraper should be used, such as H-type.

2) The material has heavy viscosity, or the viscosity becomes big after the material moisture absorption: in order to reduce the material adhesion on the scraper, and unload and clean material easily, it is better to choose simple structure scraper, such as T-type, V-type, U-type, etc.

3) The material is easy to float chain: the scraper can be inclined position welded.

4) The trough width of buried scraper conveyor is smaller: it is appropriate to use simple shape scraper. When the material with large bulk density is transported in bigger conveyor trough, in order to increase the scraper rigidity, it is recommended to use O-type scraper with diagonal strut.

5) The buried scraper conveyor is horizontal installation: T-type, U-type or V-type scraper is generally used.
Conveyor vertical installation: V-type and U-type scrapers in outward form arrangement are usually chosen.
Z-type buried scraper conveyor: V-type scraper in inward form arrangement.
Ring-lock (MK type) buried scraper conveyor: V-type scraper in outward form arrangement.
Planar ring structure (MP type) buried scraper conveyor: L-type scraper in outward form arrangement.
Facade ring structure (ML type) buried scraper conveyor: V-type scraper in outward form arrangement. 

Basic Type of Scraper and Chain Used for Buried Scraper Conveyor

As the traction and load-bearing components of buried scraper conveyor, scraper chain subassembly is generally welded by different types of scrapers and chains, or one-piece casting.
Subject to the gravity and conveyor trough, the material is transported by the thrust from scraper chain subassembly, as well as the friction and lateral pressure caused in conveying process. Therefore, the appropriate selection of scraper & chain influences the conveying and operating efficiency greatly.

 

According to different material property, conveyor trough width and capacity, various types of scraper and chain are chosen to meet the actual operation requirements.
1. The basic type of scraper
Scraper can be classified according to their shapes. There are flat scraper (T-type), framework scraper (U-type, V-type, H-type), side-pull scraper (L-type) and solid angle shape scraper, etc.
U-type and V-type scrapers are most commonly used, and suitable for horizontal, inclined and vertical transmission. 
T-type and L-type scrapers apply to horizontal transmission.
H-type scrapers are appropriate for square cross section conveyor.
Other special type of scraper, such as cleaner scraper, which bottom margin and broadside are installed with rubber sheet, neoprene sheet, leather sheet or canvas sheet, is used to remove the residue remained in the conveyor casing. In order to prevent most viscous material bonded in the inner wall of casing, the manufacturer can install a cleaner scraper every 5 ~ 10 chain link. 
2. The basic type of chain
There are three types of chains used for the buried scarper conveyor, bush roller chain, die forging chain and double chain.
Bush roller chain has the features of flexible rotation, low friction in meshing process, low specific pressure and small abrasion. While the chains must be replaced in pairs because of its heavier weight.
The characteristics of die forging chain are simple structure, light weight, high strength, reliable operation and convenient assembling & dismantling. 
The pitch of double chain is big, so it has the advantages including high carrying capacity, reliable operation and convenient assembling & dismantling. But the disadvantages are heavy weight, and can’t be designed according to equal strength.

Any device in the production process is completed, we need to install before they can be precisely later normal production. How to properly install buried scraper conveyor has become the decisive factor whether it can run properly, let's take a look masse installation steps:

1.Location: First fix the position of the nose and tail, and then fix the center line buried scraper conveyor.

2.Laying in the middle slot: The conveyor centerline fixed for laying in the middle slot. Laying flat surface conveyor needs, as there are within conveyor plane excessive bending, it will inevitably lead to discontinuity two chains, accelerated wear chain and groove wall, and even card chain.

3.Installation nose and tail: the nose and tail should leave some space, ease of maintenance and repair, wheel centerline perpendicular to the centerline of the conveyor, and the level of assurance.

4.Install scraper chain: Before installing the scraper chain, should be pre-connected, the blade should be uniformly distributed in the chain, the chain length should be equal, without reversing the phenomenon.

5.Check and idling: After conveyor installed, should be fully checked and start conveyor. Idling two hours, mainly the drive means and the blade is functioning properly, at the same time, adjust the length of the chain.

6.Check: First, head to the upper and lower scraper chain connected. ? Then pull the tail section or the lower scraper chain, the scraper chain tension, and finally take the appropriate length, and at the end of the scraper chain link. At this point, the host and are installed scraper chain

How to maintain and repair Scraper Conveyor Chain?

Scraper conveyor is widely used in food, cement, metallurgical and other industries. In the process of transporting materials, it is easy to mingle with impurities, which can cause wear of the chain. How to maintain and repair scraper conveyor chain properly? We will make a brief introduction as the following:
1.It is necessary to ensure that all pins and pin screws are fastened in place before using scraper chain conveyor. The tension of pin and the required torque, must be regularly checked and keep maintenance records;
2. In order to keep it running in good condition, please check and measure it periodically. Once scraper chain slack is found, or abnormal sound of guide rail rack hitting , please adjust the tension of chain in time;

3.When replace the chain, ensure the chain with the chain joints can move freely;
4. Check whether the head of scraper chain conveyor parts deformation or falls off or not.

 

What is the operation note of scraper conveyor?

Before using the scraper conveyor, we must understand the characteristics of the conveying material, material with big lump, density and moisture content is not allowed to convey. Each type of scraper conveyor has it specific capacity, the conveying efficiency will be highest when casing is filled with material. In the process of using scraper conveyor, if the operation is inappropriate, it will make the motor overload and affect the production, so please note the following points concerning the operation:
Operation notes before start-up
1. Check if the of central slot buckle connections are in good condition;
2. Check if the oil amount of lubrication part is enough;
3. Check if the connecting bolts of the head and tail section are firm;
4. Check the tightness of the scraper chain;
5. Check the cable and joint are in good condition;
6. Check if the sound is normal during operation;
7. After the completion of checking all above mentioned items, then the scraper conveyor can be put into use.

 

Operation notes during running
1. Check the cooling water ,gearbox and motor temperature during running at any time;
2. Check the if there is any abnormal sound of gearbox and other transmission components;
3. Idling running for several cycles before stopping the scraper conveyor in order to discharge the material inside the conveyor which is convenient for maintenance and another operation;
4. Material flow should be uniform in order to avoid overload operation;
5. Please observe if there is chain jumping during the operation of the scraper conveyor, once happens, please stop and check immediately.

The Introduction of Grain scraper chain conveyor

► Introduction
Grain scraper chain conveyor is a light type buried scraper conveyor. It is widely used to convey grain such as soybean, wheat, rice, flour etc. Compared to the ordinary type, the casing thickness of QMS type is smaller, thus lose the whole weight and save money.

► Working principle
When conveying in horizontal direction, under the constraints of material weight and casing sidewall, producing internal friction between the materials. The material can be conveyed forward along to the scraper chain, form a continuous whole material flow. When conveying in vertical direction, because of the constraints of material arch camber, weight and casing sidewall, producing internal friction that prevent the material falling down. The material can be conveyed upward along to the scraper chain.
